About Us

The Rural Educational and Development Society (READS) is a Non Governmental Voluntary Organization established in the year 1990 and was registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act XXI 1860 with bearing Regd. No. 210/1990 working in remote areas of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh, India. Since its inception the Society rendering free and selfless services for the upliftment of poor and down trodden in rural areas. It has its Societyees from many committees who have great enthusiasm, zeal and zest to work for the Rural Poor downtrodden.

               The READS works in one of the mostly backward district of Andhra Pradesh where job hiring near me more than 50% of the population is rural and tribal people who, due to their isolation and lack of awareness, have been cut off from the mainstream of society and deprived of the basic amenities of life. We work in entire Kadapa District работа reaching out to poor people and children. We plan our activities based on analysis of the socio-economic contexts and the community dynamics of the area, with emphasis on community empowerment. Our programmes are unique in the sense as it is basically directed towards involving Community Based Organizations in every aspect including project planning, implementation, monitoring and management.


To build such a self-reliant society, free from hunger and exploitation, where everyone irrespective of caste, creed, sex and language have right to dignified means of livelihood and through collective action ensure socio-economic justice and ecological balance.


To facilitate and strengthen vibrant people’s organizations at different levels of society that will protect, utilize, control and manage local resources and through collective action, ensure dynamic socio-economic change for sustainable development by advocating for proper governance and bring women, children, tribals and downtrodden, to the mainstream of the society.

The READS has been It has its Societyees who have great enthusiasm, zeal and zest to work for the rural backward people. The General Secretary of the READS is an experienced, educated, cultured and an eminent person who as dedicated his service for the up-liftment of weaker section and minority women in all walks of life.

-Since for the past 29 years READS is active in the task of empowerment of women and children in rural and backward areas. The services of the Foundation touched the under privileged women and children in rural, remote and slums areas of entire Kadapa District. The main objective of the READS is to improve the living conditions of rural and unprivileged people by developing environmentally sound land and water resources programmes, improve the environment and eco-system, arrest the distress migration, improve the socio-economic status of rural people and strive for their overall development. The READS team also tried to promote and create awareness about environment conservation, health & nutrition and build sensitization on issues revolving around poverty, hunger and peace.

We are happy to share with you some of the highlights of our activities carried out in 2018-19 intended for the benefit of the weaker section and minority women folk in the rural and tribal areas in the district.
